The reason why I chose this book on the list was because I wanted to know how the character Bobby would handle taking care of a baby at sixteen. It interested me how he actually managed to do it, because even though I'm not a father, I know that is no easy job. Fatherhood is quite a job, and the fact that Bobby did it at such a young age impressed me. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in having a baby at this age. I would also recommend this to anyone who likes a good teenage drama story. I don't like a lot of drama, but I did like this book, and I think others will as well.

entry 3
Bobby is only a sixteen year old boy living in New York, who has a lot coming to him. After getting his girlfriend Nia pregnant, he must take care of the baby. However, fatherhood isn't as easy as it might seem. While spending countless hours awake with the baby Feather (I think its a weird name) at night, he reflects on what life used to be like before Nia gave birth. How he would spend time with his friends, worrying about having the baby would be like, and whether or not Bobby should actually keep the baby. After telling both his parents and his girlfriends parents that she was pregnant, and seeing the shock and horror, and from his dads tears, it is all down to him to take care of Feather.

Entry 2
Bobby is a very interesting character because as much as he's taking care of himself and his baby, he also has no idea what's going to happen in the future. Since he isn't an adult yet, he hasn't fully matured, so he still messes around with his friends J.L. and K Boy and pulls pranks at school. He knows he needs to take care of the baby, but he just wants control over his life. The narration in the book from Bobby makes it seem like the theme is control. The book is structured in an interesting way, because in every other chapter, it is relevant to either the present, where the baby has been born, or in the past when the baby was born. It's written with short paragraphs, and sometimes, only a sentence in a line. The book is written in such a way that it keeps you reading though, and makes it quick, I like that.

Entry one
The book I chose to read over the summer is called The first Part last, by Angela Johnson. It is about a sixteen year old boy named Bobby and his girlfriend, Nia. They both live in New York City. Bobby and Nia are facing a huge problem, beacause Bobby got Nia pregnant. The book is written from Bobby's perspective, so the reader can read about his emotions at every given time. It's written so the reader can truly understand and visualize what is going on in the book. I want to know how the situation with bobby and Nia will turn out.
